1. Who we are

Rivalyze is an AI-powered competitor monitoring platform. We help businesses track changes on competitor websites and understand what those changes mean strategically. 2. What data we collect

When you register and use Rivalyze, we process the following personal data:

  • Account data: your name and email address (required at registration)
  • Password: stored in encrypted form - we never have access to your plain-text password
  • Usage data: the competitor names and URLs you add, the page types you monitor, and any notes or settings you configure
  • Technical data: IP address, browser type and session data (used for security and debugging)

3. How we use your data

We process your data solely for the following purposes:

  • Creating and managing your account
  • Delivering the Rivalyze service (monitoring competitor pages, detecting changes, generating AI analysis)
  • Improving and securing the platform
  • Analysing usage via Google Analytics (see section 5)

4. Competitor website monitoring

The core function of Rivalyze is to periodically fetch and analyse publicly accessible pages on competitor websites that you specify. This means:

  • We make automated HTTP requests to the public URLs you add
  • The content of those pages is processed by an AI model to extract and compare information
  • We store snapshots of the page content in order to detect changes over time

The pages we visit are publicly accessible without authentication. We do not bypass login screens, paywalls or access controls of any kind. You are responsible for ensuring that the URLs you add are publicly accessible pages and that your use of the monitoring results complies with applicable law.

5. Google Analytics

Wij maken gebruik van Google Analytics om inzicht te krijgen in het gebruik van Rivalyze. Google Analytics plaatst cookies en verwerkt gegevens zoals jouw IP-adres, bezochte pagina's en sessieduur. Deze gegevens worden anoniem gerapporteerd.

Wij hebben de volgende maatregelen getroffen om jouw privacy te beschermen:

  • IP-anonimisering is ingeschakeld
  • Wij delen geen gegevens met Google voor advertentiedoeleinden
  • Er worden geen persoonsgegevens doorgegeven aan Google Analytics

6. AI processing and your API key

Rivalyze uses the Grok API (provided by xAI) to analyse competitor page content. You supply your own Grok API key in your account settings. This means that page content is sent directly from our servers to xAI using your personal API key. We do not store your API key in plain text and do not use it for any purpose other than performing the analysis you request. Please review xAI's privacy policy to understand how they process data submitted via API calls.

7. How long we retain your data

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all your data is permanently deleted within 30 days. Technical log data is retained for a maximum of 90 days. Competitor page snapshots are retained for as long as the monitored page is active in your account.

8. Sharing data with third parties

We never sell your data to third parties. We work with the following data processors:

  • xAI (Grok API): competitor page content is sent to the Grok API for analysis, using your own API key
  • Google Analytics: anonymised usage statistics (see section 5)
  • Hosting provider: the servers on which Rivalyze runs

9. Your rights under GDPR

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) you have the following rights:

  • Access: you can request an overview of the data we hold about you
  • Rectification: you can ask us to correct inaccurate data
  • Erasure: you can delete your account and all associated data via Settings
  • Objection: you can object to the processing of your personal data
  • Complaints: you can lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens) at autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl

10. Security

We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords and restricted access to our systems.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. For material changes, we will notify you by email or via a notice in the application. The date at the top of this page indicates when the policy was last updated.
